Passionate about fermentation, dedicated to quality
Ferment It came from a love of traditional food preservation and a commitment to sustainable living. Our founder, Emma Clarke, grew up in a home where fermentation was a household practice. Her grandmother’s sauerkraut and pickles were legendary in the small community where she lived.
Having studied food science and now working with artisanal food producers, Emma identified a gap in the market for high-quality fermentation equipment that functioned as well as being beautiful. She developed her first prototype glass fermentation jar with a unique airlock system in 2015.
From our first workshop in Emma's garage to our dedicated team of craftspeople & fermentation enthusiasts, we aim to democratize traditional fermentation for any lifestyle without compromising on quality or sustainability.
At Ferment It, we want to empower you to take back your food and your health with the ancient art of fermentation. We believe in:
We are dedicated to reigniting traditional food preservation methods for the modern kitchen, allowing a generation to reconnect with their food on a deeper level and move towards gut health and sustainable living.
We only utilize high-grade borosilicate glass that is heat resistant, low-density, and free of toxic chemicals. Made for durability and designed to be passed down through generations, our fermentation jars.
Our crafts-people check each jar before they leave our workshop. We believe that it is the small details that contribute to the effectiveness and durability of our items, and we pride ourselves on this.
From our bio-degradable packaging made from recycled materials and our energy-saving workshop, we are working to minimise our environmental impact at every stage of production.
